27 Years.Kevin Ford worked at Burger King for 27 years

His food truck, branded “K27Y” in honor of his dedication, will serve American and eventually Filipino dishes—thanks to help from his chef-trained daughter and support from his fiancée in the Philippines, whom he hopes to bring to the U.S.

Ford says he’s still learning the business but is committed: “I’m going to study it, have fun, and put out good food.”

The original viral video, meant as a lighthearted thank-you, was filmed after Ford received a Starbucks cup, candy, and small items from management. The internet’s reaction transformed his life. “They saved my life,” he says. “The support changed everything for me and my family.”

Ford still works part-time at Burger King while preparing for the official launch of his food truck.
