Donald and Melania Trump’s official Christmas portrait has been released, sparking online discussion after some viewers claimed they noticed a possible Photoshop edit. As is tradition, the White House shared a festive photograph of the president and first lady surrounded by holiday décor. In this year’s image, 79-year-old Donald Trump and 55-year-old Melania stand hand-in-hand inside the presidential residence, framed by Christmas trees, American flags, and the presidential seal.
The couple, married since 2005, share a son, Barron, now 19. Melania oversaw the White House decorations this year, which reportedly included dozens of wreaths and trees, thousands of lights, ribbons, and ornaments, and even elaborate gingerbread displays. However, it wasn’t the décor that caught the most attention online.
Some viewers focused on Trump’s right hand, noting that the portrait appears to have been taken earlier in December, around the time the couple hosted the Kennedy Center Honors. At that event, Trump was seen wearing a bandage on the back of his hand while dressed in the same outfit shown in the Christmas photo.
In the newly released portrait, the bandage is no longer visible, leading some social media users to speculate that it may have been edited out. Several commenters questioned whether the image had been altered, while others dismissed the claims as harmless holiday chatter.
The White House has not commented on the speculation surrounding the photo.
