Sportscaster Christina Chambers Passes Away at Her Residence

Posted on January 12, 2026 By admin

Authorities in Alabama are continuing to investigate the deaths of former television sportscaster Christina Chambers and her husband, who were found unresponsive inside their Hoover home on the morning of December 16, 2025. Emergency responders were called to the residence after a family member checked on the couple. Despite life-saving efforts, both adults were pronounced dead at the scene. Police confirmed that a young child who was also in the home was found safe and unharmed.

Law enforcement officials said the investigation remains active and that limited details are being released out of respect for the family. Authorities emphasized there is no ongoing threat to the public and urged the community to avoid speculation while officials work to determine what happened. Names were initially withheld until relatives were notified.

News of Chambers’ passing sparked an outpouring of grief from colleagues, friends, and community members. Her former employer, WBRC 6 News, released a statement remembering her as a dedicated journalist with a passion for storytelling and community coverage, particularly high school sports. Former coworkers described her as enthusiastic, reliable, and deeply respected in local media.

After leaving full-time broadcasting, Chambers transitioned into education, teaching broadcast journalism at Thompson High School. She became a mentor to many students and was named Advisor of the Year by the Alabama Scholastic Press Association in 2024. Chambers often spoke about the joy she found in teaching and motherhood. While her loss is deeply felt, many say her legacy lives on through the students she inspired and the impact she made both on and off the screen.
