A wealthy British aristocrat is drawing attention after revealing he is seeking a much younger woman to marry and provide him with a legitimate heir who would inherit his estate and million-pound fortune. This is not a historical tale, but a modern-day story unfolding in Somerset.
Sir Benjamin Slade, 79, the 7th Baronet of the Slade family, lives at Maunsel House in Bridgwater, where his family has resided for centuries. Born into privilege in 1945, Slade says he is determined to secure the future of his estate by producing an heir.
He has been married once before, divorcing his wife in 1989 after 12 years. Since then, he has had several relationships, including with a longtime partner he left in 2017 because she could no longer have children. Slade has been open about his desire for a younger wife, citing inheritance tax concerns and saying his future spouse must be at least 20 years younger for financial and insurance reasons.

His list of requirements has sparked controversy. Slade says potential partners must meet strict criteria involving age, lifestyle, nationality, beliefs, height, health, and even astrology. He prefers a woman from a prominent family, free from drugs and alcohol, physically active, and capable of fitting into his social and country lifestyle.

In return, Slade promises generous financial support, including an annual allowance, housing, and expenses. Despite already having a daughter he has never met, he insists on a male heir to carry on his family legacy and manage the estate after his death. Featured Image Credit: Instagram: @sirbenjaminslade
