Yvonne Craig (1937–2015) was an American actress and ballet dancer best known for playing Batgirl in the 1960s Batman TV series. Born in Illinois and raised in Ohio, she trained as a ballerina before turning to acting, with early roles in Gidget (1959) and It Happened at the World’s Fair (1963) alongside Elvis Presley. Craig also appeared in shows like Star Trek, The Man from U.N.C.L.E., and The Wild Wild West. Though she never became a leading lady, her memorable guest roles won her a loyal fan base.
