Tiger Mother Gives Birth To Lifeless Cub, Bystanders Left Stunned By Her Immediate Reaction

Note: we are republishing this story which originally made the news in July 2015. In August 2013, two rare Sumatran tiger cubs, Spot and Stripe, were born at Australia Zoo — a remarkable event, as many cubs don’t survive in captivity. Their journey to adulthood was documented in the 2014 BBC series Tigers About the House, where tiger expert Giles Clark became their devoted caretaker.

With fewer than 350 Sumatran tigers left in the wild due to habitat loss and poaching, their birth was a major milestone for conservation. The cubs, now renamed Hunter and Clarence, have since grown into strong adults.
