19-Year-Old Camp Mystic Counselor Katherine Ferruzzo Found Passed Days After Texas Floods

A flash flood on July 4 devastated Camp Mystic in Texas Hill Country, claiming at least 107 lives statewide. Among the victims was 19-year-old counselor Katherine Ferruzzo, remembered for her passion for helping children with special needs. She had recently graduated and was set to attend the University of Texas.

The Guadalupe River rose 26 feet in 45 minutes, destroying cabins and cutting off communication. Many young campers were left stranded without training, food, or guidance.
