Common Causes of Clothing Holes:

  • Moths, rough surfaces, and wear and tear
  • Belts or zippers rubbing against fabric
  • Unzipped garments in the washer
  • Unclasped bras or overloaded machines
  • Chlorine bleach weakening fabrics

Prevention Tips:

  • Zip garments before washing
  • Use bra bags or fasten clasps
  • Turn delicate items inside out
  • Avoid bleach—try vinegar or baking soda
  • Repel moths with lavender or mint
  • Stay clear of abrasive surfaces

No-Sew Hole Repair Method:

You’ll need:

  • Iron
  • Fusible bonding web
  • Wax paper

Steps:

  1. Turn clothing inside out and lay it flat.
  2. Cut a small piece of bonding web slightly larger than the hole.
  3. Bring the hole edges together and place the web over it.
  4. Cover with wax paper and iron on the “wool” setting.
  5. Repeat if needed.

The hole will vanish—no needle required!
