Alone and ashamed, Laura entered rehab, got sober, and found work. She wrote letters to her kids and fought monthly in court to regain custody. After 11 months, a judge gave her a second chance. Instead of partying, Laura made soup and left the hallway light on. Her children were distant at first, but she stayed, listened, and proved she had changed. Slowly, trust returned.

Years later, her youngest wrote: “My mom left me once… but after that, she never let go.” Laura had rebuilt her family with patience, love, and the strength to never walk away again.
