Mom of rare twins with Down syndrome shuts down critics with photo showing how beautiful they are

Posted on July 27, 2025 By admin

Twin births are uncommon, but what happened to 23-year-old Savannah Combs of Florida was even rarer—she gave birth to identical twin girls, both with Down syndrome. Doctors had suggested terminating the pregnancy, but Savannah chose hope and love. While her husband was away at boot camp, Savannah carried the babies until 29 weeks.

Kennadi Rue and Mckenli Ackerman were born on May 12, 2021, and spent time in the NICU. As “mono-di” twins—sharing a placenta but in separate sacs—the odds of their condition are about 1 in 2 million. Despite their diagnosis, Savannah shares their milestones on TikTok, showing the world that her daughters are full of life, determination, and joy. Sadly, she’s faced cruel comments online, but responds with grace: “God knew what he was doing by giving these babies to the right parents.”

Calling her daughters “little gems,” Savannah is spreading a message of love, acceptance, and the beauty of differences.
