Seeing all the articles about my grandpa’s Alzheimer’s diagnosis has kept my tears flowing. Something about it being public makes it feel even more real. At times, sharing our life so openly can feel overwhelming, especially with bad news, but I’m genuinely thankful so many people know my grandpa. You’ve seen how he lived his life—his faith, his love for family, and his incredible kindness.
I’m so proud to be his granddaughter and to have learned from him how to love, honor, and teach the Word. Growing up in a family where strangers could share a meal, get baptized in the river, and leave transformed was just normal to Papaw Phil.
His ministry has touched millions, but to me, the most powerful moments were how he ministered to every single person who sat beside his iconic chair. I’m sad for these days but grateful for the ones we’ve had.
Rewatching Duck Dynasty now feels even more special, preserving those memories forever. Thank you all for the prayers .
