Pam Bondi was sworn in as Attorney General by Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas at the White House, with President Trump in attendance. Bondi vowed to restore integrity to the Justice Department and fight violent crime. On her first day, she plans to reverse several legal actions from the Biden administration, including retracting memos from the FBI and rescinding a 2021 memo from Attorney General Garland on harassment in schools. Bondi also intends to review over 1,500 criminal cases linked to the January 6 riot. The Senate confirmed her with a 54-46 vote. Bondi’s confirmation followed a tense confirmation hearing, where she clashed with Democratic lawmakers, including Rep. Adam Schiff.
