Candice Bergen is mourning the loss of her husband, Marshall Rose, who passed away peacefully on February 15 at age 88 due to complications from Parkinson’s disease.
A respected real estate developer and philanthropist, Rose founded The Georgetown Company and led major NYC projects like the IAC building and Madison Square Garden’s renovation. Later in life, he focused on philanthropy, especially with the New York Public Library, where he served for 30 years.
He and Bergen married in 2000 after meeting through friends, finding love again after losing their previous partners. They were approaching their 25th anniversary. Rose is survived by Bergen, his children Wendi and Andrew, stepdaughter Chloe, and grandchildren.
Candice Bergen, born May 9, 1946, is best known for her Emmy-winning role in Murphy Brown. Raised in a showbiz family, she also found success in film, journalism, and writing, with two bestselling memoirs. She continues to act in film and television.
