Jimmy Carter’s Grandson Gives A Heartbreaking Update On His Granddad’s Condition After Rosalynn’s Memorial Service

Wearing a dark suit and tie, Jimmy Carter made an uncommon public appearance earlier this week at the funeral service for his late, longtime wife Rosalynn Carter.

After declining more medical attention, the former president checked himself into hospice care back in February. He remained by his wife’s side during her last few hours of life until she passed away.

According to reports, Carter attended Rosalynn’s funeral at the Atlanta Glenn Memorial United Methodist Church while seated in a wheelchair and supported by his kids.

Before the tribute, Jason Carter, the grandson of Jimmy and Rosalynn, gave an update on his grandfather’s health and insisted that the 39th President of the United States might not be around for too long.

Jimmy and Rosalynn Carter had known each other since they were young children in the Georgian town of Plains, and they had been together almost their whole lives.

Therefore, it seemed appropriate that the two were together on Saturday, November 19, in Rosalynn’s last hours. Since the former First Lady was 96 years old, her death was not shocking, but hundreds of people have celebrated her life on Earth ever since.

Rosalynn reportedly passed away on November 19 at 2:10 p.m. in her Plains, Georgia home.

The former First Lady continued to serve as a humanitarian through the Carter Center in the years that followed her tenure in the White House with her husband from 1977 to 1981.

Regretfully, throughout the past year, Jimmy’s health and Rosalynn’s health declined.

Jimmy Carter declined medical assistance for several health conditions and accepted hospice care back in February.

Now that Rosalynn is no longer with us, most people agree that Jimmy’s health could quickly deteriorate.

Before Rosalynn’s burial ceremony, his grandson, Jason Carter, seemed to confirm as much in an interview with the New York Post.

“He’s coming to the end, and he’s very, very physically diminished,” said.

“He has been this moral rock for so many people, but she really was that rock for him.”

Amy Carter, the couple’s daughter, read a letter Jimmy had written to his wife when he was away serving in the Navy at the emotional funeral service for Rosalynn.

“My darling, every time I’ve ever been away from you, I have been thrilled when I returned to discover just how wonderful you are,” he wrote. “When I see you, I fall in love all over again.”
