Kevin Ford, a longtime Burger King employee, went viral in 2022 for a video showing the modest gift bag he received after 27 years of perfect attendance. The video sparked criticism online, prompting his daughter to launch a GoFundMe that has since raised over $465,000.
Now 57, Ford used the funds to buy his first home and, more recently, a food truck. “I wanted to do something to give back,” he tells PEOPLE, adding that the new venture is both a thank-you to supporters and a step toward retirement from Burger King.
